Religious or Political Views
This is one topic that I would have chosen to give a blind eye, as it is very sensitive in a way, that every person usually puts in personal feelings if they are to share about it.
I want to bend more on the religion side, than political so that I play it safe just like I usually play it safe with my political side. Religion is defined as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. Other scholars say that Religion is a social-cultural system of designated behaviours and practices, morals, worldviews, texts, sanctified places, prophecies, ethics, or organisations, that relates humanity to supernatural, transcendental, or spiritual elements. This personal relationship of humanity to supernatural power is the reason humans take it very very sensitive in all aspects- One God, different Understanding!
It is okay to believe in what you believe in as long as you subscribe to God the author of life, maker of heaven and earth. Because, most probably you are like me who got to understand when I was a catholic, I have grown up a Catholic, have embraced it as my religion and I am now so proud of it OR you have chosen at a later stage to change from wherever you were to where are now for reasons best known and understood by you.
while I am a staunch Catholic, I do refrain from making people around me uncomfortable with my beliefs especially those who do not subscribe to my religion. My best way to preach to them is through my actions, morals, values and behaviours. Preach by actions not by just words.
I look forward to religions that continue to teach their followers morals, values, an understanding of God as a loving and forgiving master, with leaders that continue to build its flock spiritually, intellectually, financially, physically and socially for their personal growth.
I continue to look forward to religions that do not mix politics with the churches or mosques as this has been proven to destroy the ability of religions to be supported if it were on the opposition of any government. Religions also have members that subscribe to different political sides; this means that leaders must stay neutral so their people continue to believe and trust them for support in their spiritual journey.
Finally, I look forward to religions that bond and build us as one people of God not separating us for any ones’ benefit. Just like soccer fans never mind about religion but about the teams they support, I long to see politics with no religion attached, religions with no political Interference.
